From the moment you arrive at The British Language Centre you are made to feel welcome and one of the team. The friendly staff are always there to help with any issue, small or big, professional or personal. There is a really good atmosphere within the school, students become friends and everyone is positive and motivated. The work-life balance is great as it gives you the opportunity to make the most of Sondrio’s beautiful location’.
“I spent 3 happy years at the BLC in Sondrio. It remains the best school I have worked for – professional staff, a variety of class ages and levels, wonderful students, excellent facilities and more resources than you could ever hope to use. The school allows experienced teachers to work independently, but with the knowledge that support is close at hand if needed”.
The BLC is a very professional school with excellent resources but yet at the same time small enough to feel friendly and personal. Whilst working at the school, I taught a variety of classes; young learners, teenagers, adult classes and ESP in company classes, as well as being a Cambridge examiner. The classes were very managable sizes, generally from 6-12 and the regularity of classes meant I was able to build a close rapport with the students.

“Fabulous school in a fabulous place. Steve and Sid were great to work with. Valtellina and the BLC will remain forever in my heart.”
The British School is a fabulous place to work in many ways. It is situated in the beautiful Valtellinese valley (perfect for skiing, walking, climbing and all things out doorsey). The town is relatively small but has many lovely restaurants and bars serving wholesome and traditional Valtellinese cuisine. It is easily accessible from Milan and the stunnings Lakes of Como Maggiore and Garda are a quick train ride away. The school itself is well resourced not only with the latest te…
Working at the British School in Sondrio was an experience I won’t forget. My colleagues were very professional and experienced, creating a great learning environment, for myself as a new teacher, and students alike. I was made to feel very welcome during my time there and I felt the continuing support helped me improve in the classoom. I do hope there are still some ex- students of mine walking about with a wee Highland accent.
